Winter is a time of reflection, deep sleep and dreaming. I was inspired by the changing of the seasons, the soft drop of temperature and winter solstice for this plate.
Made with lightly swirled deep blue and clear fusing glass, the serving plate was created by slowly fusing two layers of glass nearly 1,500 degrees into one layer - clear glass on bottom and the blue swirled glass on top. Once fused, the piece was then fired a second time into a slumping mold to form the plate.
While likely safe to eat from, I would suggest using for decorative use. Hand wash only. Not recommended to use in the microwave or oven.
